Can you send me the entire contents of your
drivers/platform/x86/thinkpad_acpi.c ?  I suspect of a missapplied patch
doing weird things to the code somewhere...

I suggest you switch to 2.6.29.5 when it is out in a few days.  I am now at
2.6.29.4, and it is much better than 2.6.28 :-)
