What would thinkpad_acpi do that isn't already happening? There is now a hotkey_tablet_mode attribute, poll()/select()-capable, which reports the current status of tablet/normal mode. Extremely handy if you happen to boot on tablet mode, etc. It is on the devel branch of my git tree. I will send out a new thinkpad-acpi test release soon. > Attached. Model is a X61t with BIOS version 1.08. Thanks, it confirms that HTAB is the tablet/normal hardware switch, I'd guess HDIM is either a LED, or something that rotates the screen in hardware, or some other behaviour-modifier for the EC (maybe it enables/disables the touchscreen or somesuch?). You could try playing with it using the ecdump write interface if you are curious on what it does (I have run out of time to mess with that right now). The source code has a comment that teaches how to use it. -- "One disk to rule them all, One disk to find them. One disk to bring them all and in the darkness grind them.
