I have released version 0.18-20071013 of thinkpad-acpi through the sourceforge.net release system. Patches are available for 2.6.20, 2.6.21, 2.6.22 and 2.6.23-rc at: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=117042&package_id=230205 git users can get it directly from tags in: git://repo.or.cz/linux-2.6/linux-acpi-2.6/ibm-acpi-2.6.git The code for 16-level brightness support went through further changes, to address comments from the linux-acpi ML. It now uses BCLL to detect the levels because _BCL can have side-effects. Also, I added the brightness_force parameter, which allows one to disable brightness support in any thinkpad, and to enable brightness support in thinkpads that have standard ACPI backlight brightness support. Please test, you should need to use brightness_force=1 on any T6x and X6x with their latest BIOSes to get thinkpad-acpi backlight support. Also, if someone that owns a T6x or X6x that keeps his BIOS always up-to-date offers to do heavy testing with kernels 2.6.20-2.6.22, I will consider adding ACPI video driver backports to the thinkpad-acpi backport releases. I have sent everything upstream, but it has NOT been accepted yet. -- "One disk to rule them all, One disk to find them. One disk to bring them all and in the darkness grind them.
