What is going wrong? If you load it, and immediately unload it (don't try to mess with the bluetooth or press any fn keys), does that happen as well? *DO THIS TEST ON A FRESH REBOOTED MACHINE*. If you can do this from a single-user boot, it is better (as kde/gnome have the bad manners of messing with the thinkpad firmware, so they can skew ibm-acpi tests). ibm-acpi tries to restore hotkey behaviour to exactly how it was when it unloads.
