DQ77KB 100% kworker or high pitch noise

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

I have an Intel motherboard DQ77KB which has a 2-pin header which says panel_off and a fresh Ubuntu 12.10 (3.5.0-18-generic ) install and a display connected via Displayport (DP1, not eDP1). If I connect the header in the running system a kworker process pops up with 100% cpu usage. If I leave the header unconnected no kworker process runs, which is good, but a pitch noise comes from the motherboard, probably from some voltage regulators.

I am no programmer, and I don't understand much about the kernel. But I would like to get the problem solved. If I can be any help, please let me know.

Kind regards
Timo
