Hi, I'm also seeing this issue. I applied the libata patch and so far it seem to solve the issue. I've done many boots, and run "sg_sat_identify -p /dev/dvd" in a loop 10k times with no kernel panics. I don't think I could execute that command 20 times without a kernel panic before this.
