compiling udev 141 on linux 2.4

I would like to compile udev 141 on the following environment, but getting
the attached error.

[kernel]
Linux gzpLinux 2.4.37 #1 Tue Dec 2 19:24:20 CET 2008 i686 GNU/Linux

[glibc]
GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.6, by Roland McGrath et al.
Compiled by GNU CC version 4.1.2.
