Here are my initial thoughts on that.

We should start with simple compile/boot tests of the various pieces
work on the various architectures (ppc64, ia64, x86-64, i386).

CONFIG_SPARSEMEM
	with NUMA
	without NUMA (FLATMEM)

Hotplug add

Mel Gorman's fragmentation avoidance patches (Kravetz has a working
prototype of these working with hotplug add/remove).

Memory migration patches

Hotplug remove patches

Once we get the compile/boot tests going we can start adding some
functional tests for each piece.
