Thanks for detailed log. It is same as FRITZ!Box 7580 case. The STA supports SAE but does not support 802.11w. Beacon and Probe Response of the AP indicates 802.11w is not capable and is not required. STA sends association request which does not include group management cipher suite for 802.11w. The AP reject with WLAN_STATUS_INVALID_IE. This is violation of WPA3 specification. https://www.wi-fi.org/download.php?file=/sites/default/files/private/WPA3_Specification_v3.0.pdf The AP is running WPA2+WPA3 mode. This is called "WPA3-Personal transition mode" in the specification. The spec says the AP should support 802.11w but should not require 802.11w. It seems that FRITZ!Box 7580/7590 requires 802.11w in WPA2+WPA3 mode. So this is violation. ----- 2.3 WPA3-Personal transition mode 5. An AP shall set MFPC to 1, MFPR to 0 ----- I found that you reported this to AVM (maker of the AP) in the bugzilla. https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1195395 I will wait for the response.
