Hi Arowa, thank you very much for your work on this issue! I am aware that this is an uphill battle as it disrupts routine without being technically necessary. Many of us will go through episodes where we get annoyed with our own habits and constantly want to apologize when we accidentally use terms with oppressive heritage (and I must admit this still happens to me quite often, it takes more than 'sed' to make these changes in our brains as well).
It's actually even more confusing than that. What one person finds oppressive and disturbing, another person may find perfectly fine and acceptable. Especially in such a mixed and cross-cultural environment as an open source software development.
What I find really annoying and disturbing is when things, especially technical terms, are getting renamed without a clear technical reason. Technical terms are technical terms, period. Their meaning is defined when they get introduced and then it stays unchanged. That's what technical terms are for. Please don't drag politics into that.
In the end it's up to the maintainer, obviously. Cheers, -Slava _______________________________________________ Hostap mailing list Hostap@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.infradead.org/mailman/listinfo/hostap
