I've got a working hostapd setup -- accessible from all devices on 2.4G & 5G, except for an upgraded (Win7 -> Win10) laptop. The laptop worked OK under Win7; no longer under Win10. Three things I know have changed since the last, successful client by the laptop: (1) The laptop's been upgraded Win7->Win10 (2) hostapd/git's been updated a number of times (3) my local system + kernel have been updated a number of times I *suspect* the problem is (1), i.e., Win10, but don't know specifically what to look for here; and, on the Win10 I've apparently got very limited access to diagnostic tools -- at least that I'm aware of. I've found numerous old mentions of "deauthenticated due to ..." errors (see below) online, but, so far, no solution. (2)'s also a possibility, and I may have missed a config change. Have I missed some config? Or, is there a known issue with either current hostapd &/or Win10 clients? Details as follows: I've built hostapd, git log | head commit 4a37463416254712f3a45097014a93d0b521c4f8 Author: Peng Xu <pxu@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Fri Sep 29 16:32:44 2017 -0700 hostapd: Update HE capabilities and HE operation definition Replace vendor-specific elements for HE capabilities and HE operation elements with the P802.11ax defined element values. Including a Win7 laptop, connecting only at 2.4G. That laptop (not under my control), JUST got updated to Win10. Now, it sees the APs, but when I try to connect, it simply fails with an unhelpful "Can't connect" message. On the hostapd side, logs during the connect attempt show ...
