Why do you need a hidden SSID with WPA-PSK? Hidden SSIDs are a proprietary extension of the standard and they have number of known interoperability issues. They do not add any security and especially with WPA-PSK, I don't really see any point in this type of configuration. > When ignore_broadcast_ssid=0, I can connect with, or without, WPA2 but when ignore_broadcast_ssid=1 (or 2) I can not connect even if I can see when I scan wireless networks. > > I have to mention that I use hostapd from Realtek because I have to. I use a TP Link WN725N v2 (RTL8188eu) which require a specific (old) version of hostapd :( > > If I try with another dongle and last version of hostapd, I can not connect to hidden SSID with WPA2. > > Is there any kind of limitation between hidden SSId and WPA2? Many devices do not support such configuration. I've never tested this with RTL8188eu, so cannot comment on that specific combination. Anyway, this works in mac80211_hwsim test cases and there are no known hostapd issues in this area. -- Jouni Malinen PGP id EFC895FA _______________________________________________ Hostap mailing list Hostap@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.infradead.org/mailman/listinfo/hostap
