Hi,

I need to have a hidden SSId with WPA-PSK security and as far as I can see I can not connect when hidding SSID.

When ignore_broadcast_ssid=0, I can connect with, or without, WPA2 but when ignore_broadcast_ssid=1 (or 2) I can not connect even if I can see when I scan wireless networks.

I have to mention that I use hostapd from Realtek because I have to. I use a TP Link WN725N v2 (RTL8188eu) which require a specific (old) version of hostapd :(

If I try with another dongle and last version of hostapd, I can not connect to hidden SSID with WPA2.

Is there any kind of limitation between hidden SSId and WPA2?

I'm 90% sure my problem is from this specific version of hostapd, but I may have missed something.

Are you on a DFS frequency?
Since a station is only allowed to scan passively on DFS frequencies it will never be able to find the AP you try to connect to. After all how should it know that the AP you want to connect to is "that" AP.
