In case you have missed this: g_thread_init() belongs to GLib, not GTK+,
so all comments about the versions apply to GLib. There is no GTK+ 2.32
and the versions of GTK+ and GLib are not equal. See:

for more information how to check the GLib version at compile time and
at runtime.
