Yes he did.  He said:

"I just updated to Ubuntu 13.10 and I have no
support for

gdk_threads_enter();
gdk_threads_leave();

So, my app is crashing with signal errors."

That is, he said there were run time errors.  His diagnosis of the cause
was completely bogus.  (It also seems hard to believe there were signal
errors, but you know better than me how JACK works.)
