undefined reference error with gtk+ 2.16.0/2

Hi,

I try to install gtk+ v2.16.0/2 on rhe5 machine with the following
dependencies..

gettext/0.17
glib/2.22.0
cairo/1.8.6
freetype/2.3.7
fontconfig/2.6.0
libpng/1.2.29
pixman/0.13.2
pango/1.20.5
atk/1.25.2
libtiff/3.8.2
xrender/0.8.4

But I got below error while linking..

glib/lib/libgio-2.0.so: undefined reference to
`g_ptr_array_new_with_free_func'
glib/lib/libgio-2.0.so: undefined reference to `g_error_new_valist'
glib/lib/libgio-2.0.so: undefined reference to `g_poll'
glib/lib/libgio-2.0.so: undefined reference to `g_hostname_is_non_ascii'
glib/lib/libgio-2.0.so: undefined reference to `g_hostname_to_ascii'
glib/lib/libgio-2.0.so: undefined reference to `g_mkstemp_full'
glib/lib/libgio-2.0.so: undefined reference to `g_array_get_type'
glib/lib/libgio-2.0.so: undefined reference to `g_byte_array_unref'
glib/lib/libgio-2.0.so: undefined reference to `g_byte_array_get_type'
glib/lib/libgio-2.0.so: undefined reference to
`g_main_context_get_thread_default'


Could some one please help about this error..
