signal_emit in multithread application

hi

i have 2 questions about writing multithread application

1- do i need to use g_signal_emit_by_name between gdk_threads_enter and gdk_threads_leave ?

2-do i need to use gtk_tree_model_row_changed between  gdk_threads_enter and gdk_threads_leave?

i called this two functions in the g_timeout_add callback
