Hi,
updating gtk from 2.21.2 to 2.21.4 on my Linux system (Crux) caused some
nasty problems which forced me to got back to 2.21.2.
First, Gimp crashed with the error message
"error while loading shared libraries: libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory"
Then, as the pixbuf library appears to be missing in gtk since 2.21.3, I
installed the latest gdk-pixbuf package. Now Gimp ran fine, but
Inkscape, ROX-Filer and others reported
"Error loading XPM image loader: Bildtyp »xpm« wird nicht unterstützt"
("image type xpm not supported").
Next, I tried to re-compile Inkscape and ROX. Both compilations aborted
with error messages saying that "gdk_pixbuf_ref" and "gdk_pixbuf_unref"
were undefined.
I can live with 2.21.2, but I am curious about the cause of these
problems: Bug in gtk? Bug in Inkscape? Configuration error? Bug in my brain?
Greetings,
Bernd
