Hi.
Take a look at librsvg ( http://librsvg.sourceforge.net ). But I doubt
it supports animated SVGs.

P.S.: if you use ubuntu, you can apt-get source gnome-contol-center then
go to libslab subdirectory and see search-entry.c and search-entry.h as
an example of librsvg API usage (this the search entry in gnome control
center with a little SVG watermark at the right side).
