Win32: Bold not an option for MS Gothic/Mincho fonts?

Hi,

I'm working on a Japanese dictionary program which uses multiple fonts and text styles for displaying output. It looks beautiful under Linux, but Windows is being a problem.

I'm trying to use the MS [P]Gothic and MS [P]Mincho fonts for output under Windows, but I'm unable to apply a bold style to these. They work fine in non-GTK apps like OpenOffice, Notepad, etc. However, the font chooser dialog only shows "Normal" and "Italic" styles on all of these fonts, and adding a bold tag to a GtkTextBuffer has no visible affect if that region is using one of these fonts.

Aside from not using bold, do I have any options here? I really would like to get this working.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.
