Member of Technical Staff
The
Desktop Console team at VMware is responsible for delivering a compelling and
innovative desktop interaction experience to virtually all VMware users. We
develop a variety of products and components, including VMware Player itself and
VMware VDM Client, as well as integrated console solutions for

is part of the Hosted UI group, a tight-knit band of developers who also develop
VMware Workstation and VMware Fusion. Our products run on Linux, Windows and
Macintosh platforms.
As an
Applications Engineer, you will:
+ Help
define the requirements of new products and features, and collaborate on the
user interface design.
+ Design
and own key components of our applications.
+ Develop
flexible, reusable code that can be shared in multiple applications.
+ Ship
quality desktop and server applications to hundreds of thousands of customers.
Requirements
3+ years
experience of commercial software product development.
Experience with software development in C/C++
Familiarity with Linux application development (gtk2)
Excellent
design, programming and debugging skills.
Excellent
user interaction design and visual design acumen.
Strong
analytical skills, good judgment, passion for your work.
BSCS,
MSCS or equivalent
