The following function yields the warning, compiled with '-Wall':

The code snippet:

IIRC, this compiled without warning in gtk+-1.2, but not in gtk+-2.4.
What is it that being discarded here, and/or what is the correct way to
assign gtk_entry_get_text(etc.)?
