Ryan, I reported this same bug on this list last November for gtk+-2.8.6. I then re-encountered it for 2.8.11 and filed this bug report: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=329701 My solution is not the proper one (editing the auto-generated configure script), but it did work. The proper solution *may* be as simple as running autoconf and friends. So far the status of the bug is "unconfirmed".
