GTK and LSB

Hello,
Recently we formed a Desktop working group within LSB project.
As a part of that we have been looking at standardizing some of the
libraries required for desktop applications. The top library set on the
list is of course GTK+. I will like to get some opinions and ask a few
questions to begin with.

As I understand Owen have had some discussions with LSB workgroup and as
a result have identified 2.6.2 as stable APIs (as listed at
gtk.org/api). We are basically looking at these apis minus the
deprecated functions to be included in the desktop module of LSB.

Another important aspect of LSB is development of test suites for
runtimes. We are currently evaluating GTKVTS project found in gtk CVS.
Unfortunately we are realizing that the project today is completely
unsupported and have had no development in the last 2 yrs. Is there
anyone using this project today for any testing? So far we have found a
group in Sun using this project.
We will like to expand this project (VTS) to include all the libraries
in the GTK set (currently it has coverage for GTK library only).

Please comment.

Thanks,

-Rajesh Banginwar
