glib 2.6.x prior to 2.6.4 have problems with gcc4. You should really use
the latest version (2.6.5 currently). Similarly, I hope you really don't
mean GTK+ 2.0.8, since that is ancient.

Is there a reason you're compiling stuff yourself? Fedora Core 4 should
have recent versions of all this stuff already packaged.
