why do application flikker when hiding a window, creating and display the new window?

hello!
i use gtk1.2 for my application..
my application flikkers between hiding window and showing an other window....i tried to solve this problem by reparenting the window, but then, text entries are not accepting data from the keyboard...

any idea...whats wrong?
