You should set LD_LIBRARY_PATH and PKG_CONFIG_PATH to directories, not to specific files. Like, for example, export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib and export LD_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig if glib is installed in /usr/local.
