Make sure pkg-config returns the versions of the

just built.
It finds /usr/local/bin/pkg-config, which is the only
one I have.
See if pkg-config is reading the right .pc files:
pkg-config --modversion pango
1.4.0
pkg-config --modversion xft
2.1.2
