It is hard to tell from the various threads if anyone has had success building Gtk+-2.4.2 on Sparc Solaris 8. When I try I get (from configure) checking for libpng12... yes checking pixbuf loaders to build... checking for sys/wait.h that is POSIX.1 compatible... yes checking return type of signal handlers... (cached) void checking for x86 platform... no checking for freetype-config... /export/home/bundle_2.2/bin/freetype-config checking For sufficiently new FreeType (at least 2.0.1)... yes sh: gnome-config: not found configure: error: Pango 1.2.0 and Xft backend is required for x11 target Configure of gtk+-2.4.2 failed I do have pango gmodule-2.0 GModule - Dynamic module loader for GLib fontconfig Fontconfig - Font configuration and customization library libxml-2.0 libXML - libXML library version2. glib-2.0 GLib - C Utility Library gobject-2.0 GObject - GLib Type, Object, Parameter and Signal Library gthread-2.0 GThread - Thread support for GLib pangoft2 Pango FT2 - Freetype 2.0 font support for Pango libpng libpng12 - Loads and saves PNG files libpng12 libpng12 - Loads and saves PNG files pangox Pango X - X Window System font support for Pango libxslt libxslt - XSLT library version 2. pango Pango - Internationalized text handling atk Atk - Accessibility Toolkit But of course I do not have xft since it appears to required the xrender extention and the solaris x server (under solaris 8) does not support it. So, since there appears to be some indication that this should work, can anyone actuall report a successful 2.4.2 build under Solaris 8? _______________________________________________ gtk-list@xxxxxxxxx http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gtk-list
