Hi

cheers for help on previous problem but now have another :)

I can see that there have been a few posts of this type before but none seemed to help

basically I updated to GTK+-2.4.0, Pango-1.4.0 and GLib-2.4.0 (installed in '/opt/gtk' in linux) and issued the following commands:

export CPPFLAGS="-I/opt/gtk/include"
export LDFLAGS="-L/opt/gtk/lib"
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/opt/gtk/lib/pkgconfig"
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/opt/gtk/lib"
export PATH="/opt/gtk/bin:$PATH"

and I added the path to 'ld.so.conf' as well.

but now nothing I try to compile can find GLib. It seems strange that pkg-config can see that I have GLib installed
(and the right version) and that I can compile gtk+2.0 with no probs, but nothing else can find it.

thanks for any help, im sure i missed something stupid
