Hi, I have seen in many KDE apps, a logo and a message 'please wait' before main application starts. My GTK+ app at start, loads many datas and so, after many seconds, suddenly main window popups. This is very ugly! My "idea" for "logo window" is: a) Show a window with logo and label. b) 'Catch' signal after window is showed. c) After signal is caught load 'data/settings'. d) Destroy logo-win. e) Launch 'main_window_application'. Questions: 1) Could be it a good solution or exists alternative? 2) 'expose-event' is not right signal to catch event when window is realized (it repeats for every expose). Exists a more 'generic' signal to catch window only when window is realized/showed first time? (sorry for my bad bad english) Thanks, Francesco __________________________________________________________________ Tiscali ADSL SENZA CANONE: Attivazione GRATIS, contributo adesione GRATIS, modem GRATIS, 50 ore di navigazione GRATIS.
