i've read: -sync Make X calls synchronous. This slows down the program considerably, but may be useful for debugging purposes. i don't understand this. what does it mean to make X calls synchronous? i think i remember reading that in order to save "bandwidth", X will sometimes cache events. does --sync force X to send event as they occur and not cache them? pete -- Make everything as simple as possible, but no simpler. -- Albert Einstein GPG Instructions: http://www.dirac.org/linux/gpg GPG Fingerprint: B9F1 6CF3 47C4 7CD8 D33E 70A9 A3B9 1945 67EA 951D _______________________________________________ gtk-list@xxxxxxxxx http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gtk-list
