I tried setting the LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib
You should have done that while running Pango's ./configure
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib ./configure
Actually, you may also need to add /usr/lib at the end, depending on where you keep your stuff, like this:
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib:/usr/lib ./configure
but start with the first version.
and then reinstalling glib-2.2.3 but I guess it didn't work.
That was unnecessary.
I also ran ldconfig.
You need to modify /etc/ld.so.conf first because that's what ldconfig reads for changes.
Good luck,
