gtk_config

Hello, I am trying to get the latest stable version of the Gimp (gimp-1.2.5) installed. atk-1.2.4 installed fine, as did glib-2.2.2 and pango-1.2.3 (I installed pkgconfig-0.15.0 prior to these, and the 3 packages required for gtk+-2.2.2 were installed in the order required). I then installed gtk-2.2.2 with no problems (all required aspects were already installed). Then came the hassles: there is no gtk_config anywhere on my system (done a search under / for it). What do I need to do to get this file... presumably I will have to re-install gtk with some instructions to ./configure, but I don't what is required. I'm still somewhat in the newbie class here, so VERY SPECIFIC instructions would be appreciated !

If it makes any difference, I am running SUSE 8.0 - a clean install (twice last night and thank goodness for Bioplus at work today).

Thanks for reading these ramblings and hoping you can help

Gray
