I get the following error when I run ./configure while building gtk+-2.2.1: configure: error: pangox Pango backend is required for x11 target I've already built the following: glib-2.2.1 pango-1.2.1 atk-1.2.0 Apparently, when I build pango, I'm failing to build completely. If so, how to I make it do so? Do I need to build libpangox or something? Looks like the following is what was installed when I built pango: /usr/local/lib [169] ls -go libpango* -rwxr-xr-x 1 851 Jun 4 10:36 libpango-1.0.la lrwxrwxrwx 1 23 Jun 4 10:36 libpango-1.0.so -> libpango-1.0.so.0.200.1 lrwxrwxrwx 1 23 Jun 4 10:36 libpango-1.0.so.0 -> libpango-1.0.so.0.200.1 -rwxr-xr-x 1 868710 Jun 4 10:36 libpango-1.0.so.0.200.1 -rw-r--r-- 1 751 Jun 4 10:36 libpangoft2-1.0.la lrwxrwxrwx 1 26 Jun 4 10:36 libpangoft2-1.0.so -> libpangoft2-1.0.so.0.200.1 lrwxrwxrwx 1 26 Jun 4 10:36 libpangoft2-1.0.so.0 -> libpangoft2-1.0.so.0.200.1 -rwxr-xr-x 1 603977 Jun 4 10:36 libpangoft2-1.0.so.0.200.1 /usr/local/lib [170] Is something missing? How do I build it? I searched the gtk-list archive and found a message about this same problem. But, there was no answer. I'm on Debian GNU/Linux.
