The GClosureNotify there has nothing to do with closures; it's just used because it has the right signature. It's a function to call when the signal is disconnected to free the callback data and you can pass NULL. Personally I avoid g_signal_connect_swapped() in most cases and simply have a callback function with the normal argument order that calls the function I want to call with the arguments in the right order. g_signal_connect_swapped() is just a shortcut that can make your code harder to read and maintain.
