Dependency on OMX IL

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi All,

I'm working on a SoC software stack. This SoC will have ARM cores and
DSP/HW accelerators.
We are planning to port Linux kernel and GStreamer as media framework on
one of the ARM core.

I do not foresee any third party codec (as a OMX IL component) to integrate
into GStreamer.
In this case, what is the dependency to choose OMX IL for Codec porting? I've
two options.

1) Use GStreamer framework and develop GStreamer plugins and elements for
video encoder/decoders.
2) Use GStreamer + gst-openmax/gst-ducati and integrate video
encoder/decoders as OMX IL components.

What will be the preferred option? Do I need to use IL core (e.g. Bellagio
) if I go for 2nd option?
We are going to port the audio/video codec in-house on the DSP/HW
accelerators and not going to use any 3rd party codecs.

Your help is really appreciated.

Thank you very much.
