I think it's a PS/2 device, right?

Unfortunately, we've had a lot of problems with PS/2 devices, and I
really don't know what is going on.  The problem has often been a
kernel one (the PS/2 driver, that controls both the keyboard and the
mouse), but it's a very difficult problem to track for several reasons:
wide range of PS/2 controllers and devices, lack of detailed hw specs
for both the controllers and the devices, ...

Your easiest option is upgrading the kernel to 2.4.latest and see if
that works. If not, please follow kernel documentation about reporting
bugs.

I know it's not good news for you, but that's the status of affairs.
Actually, when I have to drive non-standard PS2 devices, I boot 2.0 to
develop the user-space driver.
