GnuGk 4.4 development

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi folks,

GnuGk 4.3 is just out, but work on 4.4 has already started.

Here is a quick update of new development thats going on for the
next release.

Features:
- RouteRequests on the status port now have an additional field that
tell the routing application which message type (ARQ / Setup / LRQ)
  has caused the event
- the default for [Proxy] ProxyForNAT now defaults to off, the old
default could cause very unexpected behavior for purely routed mode
  gatekeepers

Bug fixes:
- a serious threading bug has been fixed that affects all LUA modules
- LARGE_FDSET has been fixed for Solaris, OpenBSD and NetBSD. It
was probably unusable since GnuGk 3.0 on these OS. Why didn't we get
  bugs reports for this ???
- GnuGk could crash if you had a broken setting in AliasTypeFilter

Open bugs:
- when GnuGk acts as a H.460.18 client (as client in a H.460.18
traversal zone with another gatekeeper or as child gatekeeper), it
currently does not send a keep-alive on the Q.931 TCP connection
  during a call
- bandwidth management currently only applies to calls from registered
endpoints and ignores unregistered calls completely

The new features and bug fixes are in the CSV for you to try.

If you think you might be affected by the open bugs and have a
patch or would like to sponsor me to fix them, please let me know.

Regards,
Jan
