Fred, the gatekeeperIdentifier is optional. You can use it to make sure that the wrong gatekeeper ignores the message eg. if you broadcast your GRQ. If it is included, it has the match the ID of the gatekeeper. Thats my understanding of the standard. GnuGk only checks the ID on messages commonly braodcasted. Maybe the VCS is more strict on that.
