choose the right way.
I am a network administrator in a
company with a number of branches across Russia.
We have a H.323 gateway connected
to a internal PBX via ISDN PRI or copper in every branch. These gateways are:
Cisco 28xx, AudioCodes MP104/14, Panasonic IP-GW4/16. Each gateway has it's own
public IP address.
I want to implement GNU
Gatekeeper in this way:
Alternative operators for long
distance calls (IP Telephony).
I want to note that I can not use
GnuGK as H.323 Proxy because of insufficient bandwidth at the place where GnuGK
will be placed. Is it possible to use "Direct Endpoint Call Signaling" with
"intelligent digit manipulation'?
Now I use 2 Carriers, these
carriers accept calls in deferent ways:
1st Carrier accepts: country code
+ zone prefix + tel. number, for example - 74957390009 (7 - Russia, 495 -
Moscow, 7390009 - tel. number).
2nd Carrier accepts: security
prefix + country code + zone prefix + tel. number, for example -
58872558233874957390009 (588725582338 - security prefix, 7 -
Russia, 495 - Moscow, 7390009 - tel. number).
Let me show you the way I want a
call to flow:
User (CLI 5555) dials a long
distance number: 988122250505 (9 - external line access, 8 - long distance
access, 812 - Sankt-Peterburg, 2250505 - tel. number). A gateway sends ARQ with
988122250505 to a gatekeeper. Is GnuGK capable to do this:
1. Strip 98, add 7 and return to
gateway modified called number with an IP address of the 1st
Carrier?
2. Is it possible to change
calling number (from 5555 to 73952335967)?
3. In the case of call rejection
- sometimes 1st Carrier can not serve a call. Gatekeeper will use 2nd Carrier in
such way - strips 98 adds security prefix and 7 and then return a modified
called number with an IP address of the 2st Carrier?
4. Is it possible to use security
prefixes in conjunction with calling number? Fore exaple: for calling numbers
5... GnuGK will use 588725582338, but for or calling numbers 1... GnuGK
will use 194022936919
