Hi Simon,

I really appreciate your reply. I redrew the synthetic Internet and
it is here:

Questions:

1- Can the blue router be replaced by a simple switch ?
It appears to me that it is only being used as a switch.

SH> yes

2- What is the TCP/IP gateway IP for the computer running
GnuGK and STUN ?

SH> 192.168.1.3

3- On the GK and STUN computer, I did not understand
what is 192.168.1.2 ?

SH> STUN needs 2 IP addresses to work so 192.168.1.2 is the H46023STUN
address in the gatekeeper INI

I really do want to put Skype into the museum, but things
are a bit complicated with configuring gk.ini and being able
to test and debug with a synthetic Internet would be great.
My GnuGK will be at a remote location and I need to
debug on a desk.

SH> There is a long way to go before Skype is in a museum. Certainly Direct
Media (H.323 point to point with NAT) is a lot more efficient in terms of
latency and bandwidth than a peer to peer architecture and being an open
standard also helps but there is still a long way to go on features etc.

For those out there that thinks SIP has a future? Jonathan Rosenberg, the
inventor of SIP just joined Skype.

Simon

Regards, Earl
