Yes, thats true. The installer was always a pain to create and the manual install is very simple: Copy gnugk.exe to the folder you want, and put a config as 'gatekeeper.ini' into the same folder. Run 'gnugk.exe install notray' and then reboot or start the service using the Windows control panel.
