Hi, In Linux and most other Unix-like systems, tar zxvf openh323_v1_18_0_src_tar.gz should decompress and extract the files tar ztvf openh323_v1_18_0_src_tar.gz should decompress and list the files in the archive (no writes to disk) gunzip openh323_v1_18_0_src_tar.gz should decompress and write a single tar file, which you can later extract. If the above commands do not work, you may have a corrupted file that the GUI applications can still read. If the above commands are not found, check your path. If the above commands complain about the target file not being found, check that your current working directory is where the .gz file is located. --Stewart -----Original Message----- From: armando_lima@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:armando_lima@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, September 18, 2006 9:31 PM To: openh323gk-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [GNU-GK] How to decompress.... Hi, does anybody know the command line should type into the console/terminal to decompress files like openh323_v1_18_0_src_tar.gz ? I decompressed it with X-Windows applications but I was not able to do it manually in the console/terminal application. I tried many options such as ungzip, untar, gzip but it did not work for me.
