Hello to everyone. I'll try to be
brief:
I'm setting up a young people's communitiy in Italy
(a sort of italian skype), using gnugk
and and asterisk box. within certain limits (telcos
give a few hundred minutes of free calls per month)
I will allow registered uses to also make free calls as well as calling each other. The situation:
I'm using the linux box as firewall/router, GnuGk
and Linux. It has two interfaces, external on
let's say ooo.ooo.ooo.ooo and internal on
iiii.iii.iii.iiii:
Ive setup the gatekeeper.ini file as
follows:

external callers from various networks and firewalled ip's seem to register
fine, have no problems making calls through asterisk, BUT cannot call each
other (unless the callee is on a 1:1 natted IP on his router).
Question 2: Obviously I need some security, I tried using the MySQL option,
but, from what I understand, it only looks for the user's login: there's no way
to also make it check a password on a MySql table!
Question 3. I don't know how to get a "who's on line" list via H323. Do I
have to have external clients connecting to port 7000? Can I do it with a
Query on a Mysql table??
Question 4. I notice that unless I start GK FIRST and then Asterisk, there
is NO way that Asterisk will register with GK.. If, by chance, I stop GK, I also
have to restart asterisk. It's using ooh323.c - is there anyway to get it
to periodically re-register??
Hope you can help me guys, 'cause I'm doing this as a personal favor to a
pennyless community, and I've gone crazy in the last 3 weeks trying to get
things up and running.
