yes, either by setting the trace level in the config
file or by starting gungk with the trace level option
(-t).

You should connect to gatekeeper's status port via telnet (default is
localhost:7000) and type debug trc X, where X - is logging level
(number
in range 0-5).
To use status port you should have following section in your
gnugk.conf:
[GkStatus::Auth]
rule=explicit
127.0.0.1=allow
default=forbid
DelayReject=1
Shutdown=forbid
