Use "debug trc 5" on the status port (or -ttttt as startup parameter) to
log
what's going on in detail.
Then check the log for more detailed information.

How can I verify what is going wrong with a gateway not able
to register
onto GnuGK when the only line I get is:

Could it be codec negotiation ? how can I check that ?
