Hi

first try to check with a ping that you are able to reach the gatekeeper from your dialup.
Is your Gatekeeper behind a NAT Device? Or behind a Firewall?
Check on which port your gatekeeper is running and if the softclient tries to discover or contact the gatekeeper on the same port.
Add. you could have a look at the gatekeeper log to see if you actually get a request from you softphone (it could be that the request gets through to your gatekeeper but no answer can be sent back - for what reason ever):

Subject: Could not find gatekeeper

Hi guys,

I have run a gatekeeper on a server with valid IP address and then
I dialed up from home and tried to connect to the gatekeeper by
using MyPhone software. The gatekeeper config file is the gnugk.ini
at /etc branch. The problem is that "MyPhone" couldn't find the
gatekeeper saying "Could not find a gatekeeper at 217.X.X.X". Could you please
help me to find out what I should do to solve the problem?

Best,
Farzad
