Re: j323 endpoint config openH323gatekeeper

Hi,

As you can see, the GCF still shows
     ip =  4 octets {
       c0 a8 00 32                                        ...2
     }
This translates to 192.168.0.50, which is, of course, wrong.

Unfortunately, I don't know why that might happen.

I assume that you already tested with version 2.0.x and it didn't help.

The only thing unusual that I see in the GRQ is the * characters in
[0]=dialedDigits "010*0*040,"
Try configuring j323 so that the alias has only digits.

Many endpoints, when configured to not do gatekeeper discovery, will
not send GRQ and will just send RRQ to register. I don't know anything
about j323, but if possible, set it so that it sends RRQ without GRQ.
If that's not possible, see if another softphone, an ATA, or a hardphone
can register with your gnugk.

Run Ethereal and see if there is any problem with the GRQ packet
that perhaps was not reported in the trace.

If none of the above gives a clue to the problem, sorry, I'm
out of ideas. Perhaps Michal can say what might be wrong.

Regards,

Stewart

Subject: j323 endpoint config openH323gatekeeper

Hi Sir:
Thank you very much Stewart Nelson.
Now, I using j323 engine as endpoint on 192.168.0.50(Windows 2000 Professional), using openH323gatekeeper on 192.168.0.202 (Linux Redhat), I set following config infomation in Gatekeeper.ini
(1)Home=192.168.0.202;
(2)NetworkInterfaces=192.168.0.202/24;
but in j323 engine, still throw following exception:
ERROR [H.323] Could not register with gatekeeper
Exception: No gatekeeper responded to RegistrationRequest or GatekeeperRequest
java.lang.Exception: No gatekeeper responded to RegistrationRequest or GatekeeperRequest at com.ibm.h323.gk.client.RasService.expired(RasService.java:275) at com.ibm.h323.gk.client.Sender.resend(Sender.java:122) at
