I think of it more like a hang than a crash for some reasons:
1.) The status port is still up
2.) Process are still running

But it's still semantics.

What do you mean by "volume cases"?

I have a high traffic volume.  a couple of calls x sec.  But it is
running on a "good server", normally the load avg. is close to 0

Is there a work around for this?
Is this a normal behavior on high load (traffic)?
